There is something about Ladybirds, in the fact that they are just so damned cute! This piece is so eye catching, it draws you in from a distance (I was on the otherside of the room lol) Ladybird red on blue just screams at me primary school painting and colouring, the primary colours together just bring back the kindergarten atmosphere! Then, amongst all of the red you see the little yellow ladybird on the periphery. However, is the focus the fact that the little thing is yellow and has far more spots than the others? Or... is it the fact that the one at the forefront of the queue is made of wood and paint. Yet, they have all turned their backs on the little yellow one, poor little bligter. To me, all of them are unique, each is different for different reasons, their shapes and sizes are unique, the size of their spots and the white spots on their heads differ greatly as well. So the question I ask is, why the self denial little bug?

I think the concept is that we're all different, but we're the same, but...we're still individuals? But we're not so different after all?

This one makes me think of my little niece. She LOVES ladybugs.
