I love this piece! This is my first critique but I feel that it has a big impact on my vision. I've never seen a dandelion (for the spreading of seeds, after the yellow part dies) portrayed in this manner. It is extremely well thought out and creative, I think, also, that there is the connection to the seeds flying away (even though it is only the dandelion heads) I also think that the technique is dazzling, the colors are extremely vibrant and they pop out at me, in a way that photos of plant life normally don't. I'm happy that my first critique is able to be done on this piece.
Although several others do not seem to like that this appears to be "unrealistic" for whatever reason or in some way, I like that the flower is still and just pieces are blowing away. It reminds me of slow motion scenes in movies for some reason and I think that standing still while pieces of you fly away relates to life and it's emotional storms. There is something about the black backgrond and the stillness in everything else that makes the movement seem much more elegant.....like there is a grounded acceptance in things changing, your kids leaving you, and things that happen sometimes being bigger than yourself.....planting a seed then watching it grow and fly away.....beautiful piece.
